The 2020 Corporate Challenge was an online event this year, and it proved to be an enormous success. Instead of a massed choir event in Martin Place, we created a virtual event that featured choir videos, specials guests and interviews.
After months of online rehearsals with our Corporate Choir partners, the Sydney Street Choir was so excited and proud to present our first online Corporate Challenge to a large viewing audience. The night raised more than $20,000 for the Street Choir which will enable the them to continue their important work in 2021.
The event was hosted by Brooke Corte, host of 2GB's nightly Money Show. "I've known about the Street Choir, and watched them from afar for many years, and finally got to meet them." said Brooke after attending a rehearsal. "This year we've all been reminded about how important our social connections are and I think it's incredible how these guys have managed to keep going and adapt throughout the year as well."
The online fundraising event featured appearances from The Wiggles, the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Tanya Plibersek MP, Jonathan Welch AO, plus high-profile Australian musicians Fontaigne, Bobby Alu, Casey Donovan and Amy Shark. Street Choir members Kel, Wazza and Hillary were also in the studio, singing up a storm and being interviewed by Brooke.
A huge THANKYOU must go to all of the supporters for this year's event - our Corporate Choir partners PAYCE Foundation/Paynter Dixon, APA Group, PwC, MinterEllison and Macquarie Group; our technical partner JomahBlue, and event partner Capital-E events and marketing.
